During the third quarter of 2025, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development undertook one of the largest inspection campaigns in recent years, covering private sector workplaces across the Kingdom. The effort involved more than 370,000 inspections, designed to ensure that businesses were complying with labour laws and maintaining proper occupational safety and health standards. The campaign focused on multiple compliance areas, including proper employment contracts, adherence to safety regulations, and the protection of workers’ rights in diverse industries.
The inspections revealed a significant number of issues. Authorities issued 52,000 warnings for minor violations and escalated 116,868 cases of serious non-compliance to legal action. These serious violations included failures to implement adequate safety measures, neglecting proper hazard controls, and breaches of employee rights. Officials highlighted that this level of enforcement reflects the Kingdom’s strong commitment to ensuring that workplaces are safe, healthy, and fully compliant with national regulations.
In addition to on-site inspections, the campaign promoted self-assessment practices, encouraging companies to identify and rectify risks proactively. The Ministry also emphasized training and awareness programs to ensure that employers and employees alike understand the standards expected of them. By combining inspections, legal measures, and education, Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen occupational safety across all private sector industries.
